3 Things I Learned From My Silence

“Silence is one of the great arts of conversation.” — Cicero

You don’t have to have something to say constantly.

You don’t always need to be on and chatty.

Oftentimes, the power of silence can convey something greater.

And Cicero pretty much nailed it with that quote.

Silence is an art.

You see I was the oldest of 4 brothers in a home that was super supportive and full of love (but not without some drama I mean we weren’t the Brady Bunch) but also pretty chatty.

Mom…dad…if you read this please know this isn’t about you guys being overly chatty but rather a commentary on silence.

((meanwhile…))

Because of a my very talkative parental units and my “oh yeah I can talk way more than you” younger brother I learned a few things.

  1. The first one was to always have a book in my back pocket. I read, still do, a lot. (was it an escape?)
  2. Second was to grasp the simple anatomical truth of the fact that I have two ears, one mouth. (and I bet you do too)
  3. Finally was the skill to be able to read books and at the same time understand everything that was being said around…
