6 Things 2020 Taught Me About Life, Love, and Business

The majority of 2020 for me was spent overseas, and through a very fortuitous chain of events, I was able to be home, in Texas, over the Christmas holidays.

It allowed some time for focused thought, rumination, and self-reflection of the past year. If I’m honest, a time to connect with myself and my goals on a deeper level.

Look, it seems every dang article or post talks about how folks are so glad to see 2020 disappear, and I kinda feel like I have survivor’s guilt because 2020 was actually a pretty decent year for me. I won’t get into that here and now because the sole purpose is to share a few of my largest takeaways from this past crazy, nutty year.

While this can easily be a “Top 10” or, better yet, “20 Lessons Learned” kinda riff, I’m a fan of brevity and “less is more,” so without further ado…here are 6 things that 2020 taught me about life, love and business.

1. Don’t waste disasters.

Churchill actually brought this to life way back in the day. Some folks may take issue with it, call me insensitive, but the fact is the fact. The world experienced (is still experiencing at this writing) a flippin’ disaster called a pandemic. It was that quote that helped me to dig a little deeper and find some leverage.
