6 Things This Transplant Texan Loves About Norway

The call came out of the blue.
“We need you to do what you do, Rick. We need you to head out on an assignment for a bit.”
Now before we get all James Bond and stuff, you should know that I’m a nurse. An RN. Sure, I have served in the military and been to cool places, done cooler things and can hold my own, so when I was asked to take this role I had no idea it would be to the arctic circle, in a country I’d only seen in the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics and national geographic shows.
Norway.
I’ve officially been here over three months now, closer to four, actually. I can’t say I’ve totally moved here, although it feels like home. And truth be known, on my profile page, I do tease out that I’ve been adopted by Vikings.
I’m born and raised in the US. California and Texas to be precise. So yeah, maybe, in a way, I’ve “mentally” moved here.
I dunno.
All I know is that there is so much to love about this country and its people that I felt compelled to share.
