the day he stopped breathing…
He had no idea when he woke that morning that he would stop breathing.
I mean it’s not something anybody really truly thinks about when they hit the snooze button.
We’re usually thinking about another 5 minutes or maybe wishing we’d have a cup of hot coffee delivered to our bed…even though he was totally single.
And it was like most mornings.
Pretty routined.
Alarm…
Coffee…
Emails…
Stretch…
Then go for a run.
Yeah.
A run.
The day was perfect too.
I mean, it was so darn perfect that for anyone to stop breathing was like some sort of April Fools joke from God.
But it’ wasn’t April 1st.
It was March…
Or was it June?
I dunno, but those new trail runners got laced up, and like every other morning, off he went.
The iPods had some hip hop playing, but his mind was elsewhere.
His mind was in an emotional dilemma.
You see, he was also a divorced dad who wanted only the best for his daughters, and yeah, of course, he wanted the best for himself. The dilemma was a former love had re-entered his life.
The problem wasn’t that, though.
The problem was that he had been romantically involved with someone new.
Yeah.
New.
And vibrant…
And fresh…
And beautiful…
And seemingly everything he wanted in a woman.
