The Paradox of Technology: Why We Fear AI for Writing but Trust It for Everything Else

You trust gadgets for naps. Why not for writing?

Here’s the thing about technology — it’s a paradox wrapped in shiny aluminum.

On one hand, we’re obsessed with wearable tech. We slap on an Oura Ring or glance at our Apple Watch, hungry for data: sleep scores, heart rate variability, stress levels, and even a gentle nudge to breathe. It’s like having a personal scientist whispering in your ear. Except, let’s be honest, most of us have no clue what the data even means. Do I really need to know my exact REM-to-light-sleep ratio? Probably not. But there I am, checking anyway.

And we’re not alone. People now walk into emergency rooms, not because of what they’re feeling, but because of what their tech told them. “My Oura Ring says I’m in a high anxiety state and need to go to the ER.” Yes, that actually happens. We’ve reached a point where we’ve outsourced our intuition to algorithms.

But here’s the twist…

Why We Trust Tech for Data but Not for Writing

When it comes to writing, we suddenly hesitate. AI?

Too impersonal.
