In February of 2001, I started what became my very first company.

Or, put another way, I became an entrepreneur.

The funny thing was I never thought of it that way until someone called me the “E” word. I just assumed I was another fella looking to fulfill a dream. A dream of freedom. Of making more and of doing it on my terms.

A dream I bet you have too.

While becoming an entrepreneur can be exciting and highly gratifying, it is super important to understand some realities before diving in.

The truth is, social media can make being an entrepreneur or business owner glamorous as the fun side is easy to capture and share with the world. Private jets, lounging on beaches, fancy cocktails in exotic locales. You’ve seen the pics and know precisely what I mean.

But hell, entrepreneurship and business are not always fun, easy, or as glamorous as that.

Viewing the entrepreneur lifestyle as easy and fun twenty-four-seven will only make it more difficult for you to do the work required to push through the grind.
