I could see the pain in her eyes even though she was already mildly sedated, and squeezed her hands tight as they wheeled her into surgery.

Major surgery.
(But is there really any other type??)

Truth is, one never truly knows if you’ll ever emerge from a full blown, major procedure, under general anesthesia. And that’s why they have so many darn papers to sign…
